What a night!

What an incredible night of racing we had yesterday! The track was buzzing with energy as riders gave their all, resulting in some thrilling and memorable moments. Let’s recap the highlights from last night’s action-packed racing.

In the sprint category, it was a fierce battle between William and Nathan. In an impressive display of strength and tactics, William emerged victorious, claiming the top spot on the podium. Congratulations, William, on your outstanding performance!

One of the standout events of the night was the ladies’ derny race, which captivated the audience and riders alike. It was a unique and exciting format, with riders from Categories A and B acting as personal dernys to the ladies, providing them with support and guidance around the track. The atmosphere was electric, and the race was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved. Kudos to all the riders who participated and made it a truly memorable experience!

We also want to give a special shout-out to our amazing ladies who showcased their skills and determination on their omnium night. Their versatility and talent were on full display as they competed across multiple disciplines. It was inspiring to witness their dedication and the level of competition they brought to the track. Well done, ladies!

In a delightful surprise, we were honored to have the legendary Johan Museeuw, former winner of the Tour of Flanders and other prestigious races, grace our racing event. His presence added an extra touch of excitement and prestige to the evening. For those who may not be familiar with Johan Museeuw, he is a Belgian cycling legend who has achieved remarkable success throughout his career. His accomplishments on the bike have earned him a well-deserved place in cycling history.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Johan Museeuw for joining us and sharing his passion for the sport. His presence undoubtedly inspired riders and reminded us of the greatness that can be achieved through dedication and perseverance.

We want to express our appreciation to all the riders, volunteers, and spectators who contributed to the success of last night’s racing. Your enthusiasm and support create a vibrant and thriving community that we are proud to be a part of.

Stay tuned for more exhilarating racing action in the weeks to come. Let’s continue to celebrate the achievements of our riders, embrace the spirit of competition, and create lasting memories on the track. See you at the next race!

Track News

Accreditation Friday 16th June

This is still open until 6pm tonight for any latecomers (click here to sign up). There looks like there will still be a few spots on the day if you decide to join in. Be there by 5:30pm if so.

We also need some help in the following areas:

  • Track bikes
  • Marshals
  • Riders

We have a VERY large amount of people coming tomorrow and having enough bikes in certain sizes may be a stretch. If you have a size 56 or 58 (ish) track bike you don’t mind being used and can bring it down that might make things much easier.

We could also use some people to marshal the track while this all goes on, so please add your name in here if you can help (or if you already intend to be there to help).

Any riders already accredited (youth B or above) can come down for some potential track time or to help out, but we have quite a few riders so space/time may be limited.

Summer Series #3

Entry is now open for #3 on Friday June 23rd. You can enter here.

During Week 9, we are proud to present “Ladies Week” where our female riders will take center stage. It’s a chance for these talented athletes to showcase their versatility and prowess across multiple disciplines, leaving us in awe of their capabilities.

But that’s not all. We have an exhilarating second race planned exclusively for the ladies—a race format that’s new to our track: the Derny. In this unique event, riders from Categories A and B will act as personal dernys to the ladies, assisting and guiding them around the track. It’s a powerful display of camaraderie and support, creating an unforgettable experience for all involved.

We want to extend a special shout-out to our dedicated volunteers who help make these races possible. Your contributions and assistance are invaluable in creating a safe and thrilling racing environment. We couldn’t do it without you, and we are incredibly grateful for your commitment.

Entries are closed for Summer Circuits #2 and we are short on marshals for races 2 and 3.

Riders from race 3 are turning up early to marshal for race 1 (and a few for 2 as well) so it would be nice if those entered for the other races could do likewise.

Click here to sign up. We don’t run half a race meeting. We cover all the races or none of them happen.

Another reminder that there are entries available on the day, £15 for the Womens race and £18 for the others.

Week 7 Volunteers

Attention all riders and members of our racing community! We are rapidly approaching Week 7 of our racing season, but we find ourselves facing a critical challenge. Currently, we do not have any volunteers signed up for this week’s event.

The absence of our regular volunteers, many of whom are away, leaves us in a difficult position. Without an adequate number of volunteers, we cannot ensure the safe and successful execution of the races that we all eagerly look forward to.

We kindly ask each and every one of you to consider stepping up and signing up as a volunteer for Week 7. Your support is crucial in allowing others to experience the thrill of racing. By volunteering, you not only contribute to the well-being of the racing community but also create opportunities for fellow riders to showcase their skills and compete.

Please take a moment to reflect on the importance of volunteering and the impact it has on our racing events. Without volunteers, the entire structure of our league is at risk. We want to continue providing an exciting and well-organized racing experience, but we need your help to make it happen.

If we do not have all the volunteer spots filled by early Wednesday morning, we regretfully will not be able to proceed with the races. This decision is based on the safety and integrity of the events, as we must ensure we have enough support to maintain our high standards.

To sign up as a volunteer and help us keep the racing spirit alive, please visit [sign-up link]. Even if you can only spare a portion of your time or have limited experience, your willingness to lend a hand is invaluable.

Let’s rally together as a community and show our support for one another. By volunteering, you not only enable others to race but also contribute to the camaraderie and success of our racing series.

Thank you in advance for considering this urgent request. Your support and commitment are deeply appreciated.
