“Keeping Sussex Racing!”
Promoting regular racing at the Preston Park Velodrome for all ages and abilities.
Our flagship event is the regular Wednesday night track racing league, for all age categories from youth to veteran and a growing women’s league, running roughly from April to mid-August each year.
We also run circuit races at other times of year. See our calendar for a list of upcoming events.
Volunteers are always needed!
If you can help out on our Wednesday or Friday evening races please read our volunteering page or email volunteering@scrl.co.uk.
New to racing?
For our circuit races (on freewheel/road bikes), you must either be a member of British Cycling with a race licence, or non-members (or members without a race licence) can pay for a day licence along with their entry fee. You can get an idea of the costs on the fees page. You should also familiarise yourself with the British Cycling “Race Smart” programme, which you can read about here.
To race on track/fixed gear bikes in one of our track leagues you must pass the Preston Park accreditation course. Click here to read more about the accreditation process.
Don’t have a track bike?
A limited number of bikes are available to rent for the sessions on a first come first served basis, for a small donation fee.
