“Keeping Sussex Racing!”
Promoting regular racing at the Preston Park Velodrome for all ages and abilities.
The leagues flagship event is the regular Wednesday night track racing league, for all age categories, running roughly from April to mid-August each year.
We also run circuit races and veterans and womens track leagues too. See our calendar for a list of upcoming events.
We are also strongly promoting womens racing.
Volunteers are always needed!
New to racing?
For our circuit races (on freewheel/road bikes), you must either be a member of British Cycling with a race licence, or non-members (or members without a race licence) can pay for a day licence along with their entry fee. You can get an idea of the costs on the fees page. You should also familiarise yourself with the British Cycling “Race Smart” programme, which you can read about here.
To race on track/fixed gear bikes in one of our track leagues you must pass the Preston Park accreditation course. Click here to read more about the accreditation process.
Don’t have a track bike?
A limited number of bikes are available to rent for the sessions on a first come first served basis, for a small donation fee.
Check the “Start Racing!” menu at the top of the page, especially the Frequently Asked Questions.
