What a great first week!

What a week! The sun shone, the wind was low, and we had a (record?) 61 riders signing on.

We ran separate senior A/B races all night due to the volume of senior riders, and hope to do the same again this week. With another 6 riders accredited last Friday this Wednesday should be better than ever!

As we will plan to split the senior A/B races again, time is of the upmost importance so we need to keep things moving as swiftly as possible.

  • Please arrive in plenty of time for sign on.  Have your money ready.  Now that most people have registered this should be a quicker process but the quicker we can get signed on the quicker we can get racing.
  • Make sure you are ready for your race.  Move to the safety line (cones or tape usually) on the grass at the edge of the track when called.  When the commissaire allows, line up as quick as is safely possible.
  • When your race is complete, move off the track on to the grass after passing the large traffic cones beyond the finish, once it is safe to do so.  You should not need to go any further than half-way round the track to be going slowly enough to leave the track safely.  This allows us to get the next race underway as soon as possible.
  • When racing is finished for the evening, please do NOT ride around the track, at least until the track area is clear of all volunteers.  The track gets dark very quickly and people are moving across the track a lot to put away equipment.  If you need to “spin down”, please use a turbo or rollers.

Here’s to another great weeks racing this week!

League starts this week!

We’re almost there. The weather is looking good for Wednesday and we’re ready to go.

A reminder that if you have not yet signed your registration form at one of the Wednesday (or Friday accreditation) sessions you MUST register and PAY this Wednesday. We can make no exceptions!

Remember registration is £5 for all ages, and the race fee is £10 for seniors, £8 for juniors/concessionary rates and £5 for youths.

So if you haven’t registered yet, your total costs for Wednesday will be £15 for a senior, £13 for a junior or concessionary rate, and £10 for a youth.

The fees page has the full details.

See you there!

Volunteers needed for April 8th racing

It’s that time again when we put out the appeal to fill our volunteer requirement for racing. As a reminder these positions MUST be filled for racing to take place. If the comm turns up and we cannot show that the requirements are in place, they can call the whole thing off, there and then!

Nobody wants that, so lets get together and make the event happen. You can see the list of positions we need to fill on our volunteering page (note that not all positions are required for the circuit races, see table below).

Specifically the positions we have most difficulty filling are the gate and roving marshalls. It’s easier if we can get people to volunteer the whole day, but if you don’t mind, why not volunteer outside of your race time? If enough people volunteer (we only need three from each race) it could work like this:

  • Youth/Womens race: Volunteers from the 2/3 race, 4’s can warm up.
  • 4s Race: After the start, youth/women can take over and 2/3 volunteers can warm up.
  • 2/3 Race: After the start, 4s can take over.

If you can help out, please send an email to

We will update this page as the positions are filled.

Remember, the league is not run as a business, and nobody gets paid, it is entirely volunteer driven. We need your help!
